Year of New Beer: Yuengling Summer Wheat, Yuengling Brewery (PA)

A day at Kings Island has the potential to bring to a screeching halt the streak of over 900 straight days of trying a new beer. Lucky for me, I found this solid summer offering in the Festhaus. Aroma hits the style notes with the requisite clove, banana, and ground wheat. On the tongue is more of the same, along with a faint hint of licorice on the finish of this medium bodied brew. Compared to the German standard bearers, this one comes up quite a bit short. But for an American brewery that rarely gets my attention, this is actually a decent Hefeweizen.
