Year of New Beer: Brettish Bulldog, Against the Grain Brewery (Louisville)

Written By: Dion on 10/11/2014

A complex nose vacillates from sweet to sour as undercurrents of caramel and raisin are swept aside by tart fruits, damp earth, and brett funk, with hints of leather thrown in. On the tongue, sweet notes are very short-lived, as walnut, oak, and red wine lead the way, with a peppery funk and green apple peel loading the dry finish. Not as rich as some old ales I've had, but one that should be pretty interesting in a year or two when I open another bottle.  The AtG crew continue to push the envelope, and I love it.
