The Twelve (New) Beers of Christmas, Day Seven-7 Swans-A-Swimming, The Bruery (CA)

The nose is subtle, offering up mostly fruit notes--grapes, cherries, plums, and raisins. On the tongue, the fruits are sweet, almost candied in nature, resting atop a light caramel malt. Hints of spice and Belgian yeast on a slightly sticky finish. Unbelievably smooth for over 11%. Not even the slightest hint of alcohol presence. Falls short of the greats of the style--Rochefort 10, St. Bernardus 12, Westy 12--but not a bad effort at all. Thanks to Ben for helping me acquire this one.
