Year of New Beer: Wine Barrel Noir, Prairie Artisan Ales (OK)

So I picked up quite a few new beers over my long weekend in Florida...but it was the box delivered to my front porch today that caught my attention. Three bottles, two of which I've never had before. This one features dark fruits on the nose, with chocolate, coffee, and oak as well. With warmth, the aroma really showcases the red wine tartness. On the tongue is an array of lightly sour fruit, but it blends nicely with the richer elements of the stout base. The sweeter chocolate and mildly bitter coffee balance things very well. I enjoyed this more than Bomb, which I find to be lacking in depth.
