Year of New Beer: Elephant Heart de Brettaville, Almanac Beer Co (CA)

The description on the label sold me--farmhouse ale aged in wine barrels with Elephant Heart plums and dry hopped with Eldorado. The nose is tart with fruit that doesn't necessarily come off as plum, but is nice nonetheless. Traces of lemon, hay, oak, and bread dough as well. On the tongue is very similar as sour fruit strafes the taste buds, acidic and vinous in nature, with a damp oak and earth lying underneath. Slightly grassy hop bitterness with a touch of bready malt. While this is not quite as good as the peach version of the series, it's still pretty tasty, and worth the buy if you see it when traveling.
