Year of New Beer: Chai High, Avery Brewing (CO)

An initial caramel malt sweetness is quickly backed up by hints of clove, nuts, and tea leaves. On the tongue, the spice really comes forward, with clove and maybe a little nutmeg as well. Slightly woody with a leafy, green quality melding nicely with the underlying sweetness. You wouldn't want several of these, but it definitely makes for a nice change of pace.
