Year of New Beer: Caeso, Listermann Brewing (Cincinnati)

Roasted malts, cocoa powder, light coffee, and hints of smoke on the nose. On the tongue, a bit of lactose sweetness seems to take the edge off the char, allowing the chocolate to come forward just a little more. Traces of dark fruit and even a hint of vanilla come through with warmth. This is not spectacular, but it's a solid stout nonetheless.
