Year of New Beer: Xocoveza Charred, Stone Brewing (CA)

Given that this is nearly a year old, the amount of coffee that is still found on the nose is pretty remarkable. A nice milk chocolate, vanilla, and peppery spice add to the complexity. On the tongue, the spice aspect is a little more subdued, with nuts and chocolate melding nicely with the coffee and an oaky bourbon kick. Overall, this is very good, but I probably shouldn't have waited so long, as I think the peppers have lost a little of their punch.
