Year of New Beer: 5 Beans, Sixpoint Brewery (NY)

Bold coffee roast and dark chocolate lead the nose, with lighter elements of nuts, caramel, and spice. On the tongue, the coffee is sharp and bitter, tempered slightly by a bit of milky sweetness and the spiciness of the cardamom. Traces of smoke and vanilla as well. This is very good, but for me, the cardamom throws off the balance just a bit.
