Year of New Beer: CitruSinensis, Lagunitas Brewing (CA)

Even more citrus on the nose than the name can possibly imply. Tangerine, mango, and hints of pineapple are intertwined with a slightly sweet, bready malt and an ever-increasing note of herbal grasses. On the tongue, the citrus is pithy up front, providing a moderate bitterness. Juicy fruits take over in short order as the orange tastes as though it has been squeezed directly into the glass. The weed note is subdued behind all of the fruit, but it does persist through the finish. This is so good. Ridiculously easy-drinking for a 7.9% beer.
