Year of New Beer: Bolo Coconut Brown, Burial Beer Co (Asheville)

Chocolate malt, light coffee, and roasted nuts greet the nose initially. With a little bit of warmth, toasted coconut and traces of vanilla offer up some sweetness. On the tongue, an earthy bitterness joins a lightly charred bread, both of which are toned down by a coconut sweetness that is noticeable but not at all overpowering. If anything, it's a tad light. Hints of vanilla and chocolate through the middle, with a nice, roasty bitterness returning toward the finish. Nice beer.
