Year of New Beer: Judgment Day, The Lost Abbey (CA)

Plums, raisins, and brown sugar on the nose, with a backbone of bready malt. With warmth comes a trace of vanilla and an outstanding bananas foster quality. On the tongue is a hefty malt sweetness, again loaded with raisins, hints of chocolate, and toasted bread. Moving toward the finish, a mild, earthy hop bitterness sets in, working in conjunction with a building alcohol warmth to dry the mouth. Doesn't seem to feel as big as the 10.5% ABV would lead you to believe. Very enjoyable beer.
