Year of New Beer: Fest of Ales Edition

Great beers tonight, and an unbelievable turnout given the weather. Standouts for me were the Balaton Cherry, Country Boy Brewing (Lexington), and Tuck Rule, Mile Wide Beer Company (Louisville). The Balaton had a really nice tart cherry kick that should appeal to both hardcore beer nerd and newbie alike. Tuck Rule is outstanding. Soft, juicy fruits with just the right amount of pithy bitterness. Honorable mention to the West 6th Flanders, which I've had before. It's even better than last year's version. And going out of state, the Bell's Kiwi Gose was a nice surprise, as was the Double Homestyle from Nashville's Bearded Iris.
