Year of New Beer: Passion Dome, Grimm Artisanal Ales (NY)

Tons of fruit on the nose, with the advertised passion fruit leading the way, augmented by tart peach, sour apple, and lemon zest. Hints of hay, dry grass, and yeast develop with warmth. On the tongue, the fruits are definitely sour, but there's a slightly sweet undercurrent that provides a nice balance. The passion fruit is pronounced on the taste buds, with a late-arriving grapefruit peel adding to the acidity. Slightly funky throughout. I don't pick up much from the oak conditioning, but I'm not complaining. So easy drinking and delicious, these guys rarely disappoint.
