Year of New Beer: Imperial Biscotti Bourbon Maple Syrup Barrel Aged, Evil Twin Brewing (NY)

Written By: Dion on 12/25/2017

The already complex Imperial Biscotti Break gets ratcheted up a notch with the addition of bourbon and maple syrup. The aroma is ridiculously rich, filled with chocolate, dark fruits, sweet soy, and more modest notes of bourbon and maple. That aroma transitions wonderfully to the tongue, with a chocolate, caramel, and maple sweetness commanding your immediate attention. Mild bourbon heat and charred oak work well with the soy component along the mid-palate. The decadent sweetness and gentle alcohol burn linger through the finish. Best shared, or at the very least consumed over several hours. Either way, it's a delicious indulgence.
