Year of New Beer: POW!, Highland Brewing Co (Asheville)

Approaching six months old, I thought his had the potential to be a sweet, malty mess. Instead, the nose opens with a ton of pine, citrus, and dank, herbal grasses. On the tongue, a spicy, fresh cut grass balances hints of honey and caramel malt before allowing a resinous citrus pith to grab hold of the taste buds. Sticky with an underlying alcohol burn. I can't imagine how hot this was when fresh. Still, a respectable big ABV IPA.
