Year of New Beer: Bourbon Barrel Aged Oud Bruin, BOCK Homebrew Club (Lexington)

When your fridge is running perilously low on new brews, it's nice to be able to turn to the local guys for a quality beverage. Slightly acetic red wine characteristics on the nose, with subtle hints of oak, leather, and bourbon. On the tongue, the red wine tones are deepened by traces of caramel malt and suggestions of vanilla due to a one-year slumber in Buffalo Trace barrels. Moderately tart with just enough oak and bourbon to soften the edges. This can hold its own with the pros. Well done.
