Coconut Vibes, Shared (St. Louis) and 3 Fonteinen Framboos Oogst 2017, Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen (Belgium). So many good beers sampled tonight at our beer group's Christmas party, that it's really not fair to narrow it down. But I'll try anyway. Coconut Vibes might be more accurately named Coconut Viscosity, because this may be the thickest beer I've ever tasted. Liquid, boozy, fudge with a nice undercurrent of coconut. Definitely a teriyaki note that was mentioned by some in attendance. Excellent. Standing in stark contrast was the Belgian lambic. No sweetness here as tart raspberries work in conjunction with a bit of funkiness to pucker and dry the mouth. Stellar brew. Opposite ends of the spectrum for sure, but each delicious in their own way. Many thanks to all who shared such excellent beers tonight.
