12 (New) Beers of Christmas - Fantôme De Noel, Brasserie Fantôme (Belgium)

The nose begins with tart berries, oranges, and a slight mustiness. With warmth, a touch of chocolate and spice comes forth. On the tongue, the dominant feature is a tart, fruity acidity. Lesser notes of leather, pepper, And candied sugar present as well. Listed as a Saison/Farmhouse ale, I just don't get it. Nothing about it says saison to me, or Christmas beer, for that matter. Throwing style out the window, however, it's an overall enjoyable beer.
