Grape must, damp cork, and citrus pith all tease the nose before hitting the mouth with an onslaught of puckering fruit. Hints of oak, leather, and funky yeast peek from beneath the lactic acid tartness, all drying out the tongue. Not quite as complex as some of the other wild ales from Avery, but still a solid start to The Year of New Beer, Volume 5.
