Year of New Beer: Snake Eyes Imperial Stout and Sixfold II Tart Cherry - West Sixth, Lexington, KY

Snake Eyes starts big and bold with notes of cocoa powder, coffee, and a touch of smoke. On the tongue is an excellent blend of roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel, all of which are augmented by traces of vanilla and charred wood. Excellent. The Tart Cherry is very mild on the nose, offering up only a faint hint of fruit and hay. The tart cherry puckers the mouth slightly, crisp and biting with its effervescence. Lightly floral hop bite and drying acidity through the finish. I would like to see the cherry note ramped up just a bit, but I could certainly see myself drinking more of this one, especially given the lower ABV. Two really solid beers, and I love the variety on the tap list right now.
