Year of New Beer: Smooth Hoperator, Stoudts Brewing (PA)

Mild citrus fruits and honey on the nose aren't bad, it's once things hit the taste buds that things go awry for me. A tart, unripened peach-like flavor prevents the hops from getting a grip. Thinking maybe it's just a bad bottle or old IPA, then I see the brewery considers it a Doppelbock. For me, the attempt at meshing the two styles just doesn't work.
