Year of New Beer: Calico Amber Ale, Ballast Point Brewing (CA)

Very gentle malt sweetness and hints of hops on the nose; the caramel malt hits the tongue initially, with just enough hop bite and orange peel to keep things balanced. Although it falls well short of their Sculpin in terms of awesomeness, this is still a solid beer from Ballast Point.
