Year of New Beer: J.W. Lees Vintage Harvest Ale, J.W. Lees & Co (England)

At just over 10 years old, this 2002 vintage has a lot going on. The nose is alive with caramel, dark fruits, leather, and sweet pipe tobacco. On the tongue, caramelized brown sugar and the fruits hit first, followed by a warming alcohol mid-palate, finishing with a previously unnoticed sweet chocolate. This is seriously dessert in a glass.
