Year of New Beer: Zinneke, Smuttynose Brewing (NH)

Roasted malts and chocolate are joined by some dark fruits on the nose, with only the slightest tease of bourbon. On the tongue, the Belgian strong ale traits arrive in full as the raisin and plum notes hit first. Some woodiness and hop bitterness sneak in mid-palate with the bourbon again providing only minimal influence. Really enjoyable beer from a brewery that rarely disappoints.
