Year of New Beer: 25th Anniversary Ale, Goose Island Beer Co. (Chicago)

Earthy, nutty nose with hints of cooked apple and mild, leafy hops. On the tongue a semi-sweet toasted bread crust with caramel and a faint tobacco spiciness. Not a bad beer, and I was certainly surprised to find it on a decent beer list at dinner. - at The Club at Spindletop Hall.
