An absolutely beautiful pour, this one greets the nose with tart berry aromas that encompass not only the blackberries and black currants, but also grape skin and sour cherry. Cursory notes of musty hay and damp wood augment a fruit tone that grows increasingly jam-like with warmth. On the tongue is a puckering kick of sour berries, citrus peel, crab apple and red wine vinegar. The vinous traits are complemented by an earthy yeast, hints of leather, and dusty oak. Dry, tart, and acidic on the finish. Excellent. Wish I had gotten two.
