Year of New Beer (Rnd 2): White Oak Jai Alai, Cigar City Brewing (FL)

Really interesting nose as the bright citrus/tropical aspects of the regular Jai Alai are augmented by an earthy wood tone, with lesser hints of dill. On the tongue, a sweeter malt gets a grip along with an oakiness that is reminiscent of some bourbon barrel aged beers. The tropical fruit juices blend well with a spicy herbal bite and citrus pith. Whereas I found the Cedar Aged Jai Alai to be virtually undrinkable, this White Oak is really nice.
