Year of New Beer: Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean, Stone Brewing (CA)

Roasted coffee bean combines with a sweet, almost minty vanilla on the nose. On the tongue, some dark chocolate bitterness joins the coffee and ramps up the astringency just a bit, leaving me wanting just a touch more vanilla creaminess. Solid beer, as is the norm for Stone, but one that falls a tad short of my expectations.
