Year of New Beer: Key Lime Pie Gose, Westbrook Brewing (SC)

One of the more polarizing beers in recent memory is given the key lime treatment, and the result is a refreshingly tart summer treat. The familiar saltiness of the regular Gose is joined by a punch of sour key lime. With warmth, a Graham cracker/shortbread malt sneaks through. Very similar to taste as the saltwater kick and slightly sour wheat gets a healthy dose of Key lime, coming in tart at first, but seemingly offering a hint of sweetness through the glass. Has a very margarita-like feel. I suspect this version will be just as divisive, but I just can't imagine a much better summer beer. Citrusy, sour, delicious...the label says it all.
