Year of New Beer: Hop 'N Lock, Longtooth Brewing (Lexington)

Hazy IPAs are all the rage right now, and this offering from accomplished homebrewer Steve Reuschle passes the visual test. Juicy citrus on the nose, with orange, grapefruit, and pineapple intertwined with a slightly dank, herbal bite. On the tongue, this is all about pithy, zesty hop bitterness. Dry, biting citrus peel and field grasses overcome a very light malt backbone. Hints of chive and grapefruit through the finish. This is a hop lover's dream that can hold its own against the offerings of many production breweries. Excellent.
