Year of New Beer: Modus Operandi, The Wild Beer Company (England)
Written By: Dion on 12/27/2013
An old ale aged on oak with wild yeast produces a unique beer with aromas of tart cherries, peppery spice and slightly charred wood. Flavors lean to the tart, sour side as the wild yeast gives everything a funky tone. Dry through the finish like a red wine. Never would have pegged this as an old ale. Different, but good. Thanks Gary & Shanon for another winner!
