Year of New Beer: Melkweg, Monnik Beer Co (Louisville)

Dusty, dry grasses and plenty of funk on the nose, with some fruit peel, most notably tart peach, growing with warmth. On the tongue, the Galaxy hops begin to shine as a citrus pith bites the tongue, with additional notes of pineapple and passion fruit vying for attention. The Brett stays funky on the taste buds but is balanced very well on the whole. Dry, but not overly bitter, with a continued tart peach and a bit of a floral aspect through the finish. Deceptively smooth for the ABV. Not surprisingly, another stellar beer from Monnik.
