Year of New Beer: Key Lime PieP.A., West Sixth Brewing (Lexington)
Written By: Dion on 01/09/2014
Sharp key lime juice hits the nose first, with background notes of vanilla. As the beer warms, the unmistakable Graham cracker crust aroma lingers. On the tongue, this is simply fantastic. I've had many beers that tried to emulate certain foods, but this may take the cake (or pie?). Again the key lime tartness is up front, but an unbelievably creamy, sweet vanilla takes the edge off without becoming heavy or overbearing. The balance here is outstanding. Finishes with a solid citrus hop bite. OK guys, this CANNOT be a one time only brew. Quite possibly my fave West 6th beer to date. - with Brady Barlow, Emily Cooper Spencer and Ben Self at West Sixth Brewing.
