Year of New Beer: Snakes Ahoy!, West 6th Brewing (Lexington)

With a nose of brownie batter, oak, and rum spice, this puts patience to the test immediately, daring me not to dive in. Burnt sugars, molasses, and dark fruits meld together beautifully with bitter chocolate, charred malts, and a sneaky vanilla that arrives with warmth. A nice toasted oak accompanies the sweet rum spice that lingers through the finish. Never gets too harsh or alcoholic, instead displaying an impressive array of flavors in a complex yet integrated fashion. So good. Another bullseye from the W6th Barrel Program.
