Year of New Beer: Penn Quarter Porter, DC Brau (Washington, D.C.)

Nose is full of rich, chocolate malt with charred bread crust and auxiliary notes of cooked raisins, coffee, and ash. Very roasty on the tongue with a significant earthy hop bitterness. Faint hints of anise against a solid campfire char on the finish. Big, full-bodied mouthfeel for such relatively low ABV. I don't drink a ton of porters, but this is pretty solid.
