Freshly roasted coffee bean, bourbon, and oak lead a nose that also features hints of chocolate, vanilla, and charred malts. Bourbon soaked oak opens a flavor profile that quickly takes on a big coffee note. Initially bitter, the coffee evolves into an earthy, vegetal, almost green pepper note. Chocolate and traces of vanilla and oak char on the finish. This was pretty good for about half the bottle. May have been better if it were properly carbed.
