Year of New Beer: Hopzeit Autumn IPA, Deschutes Brewery (OR)

This is pretty unusual, as the initial aromas are floral with bread crust, caramel, and nuts. Warmth allows the hop influence to settle in, bringing orange and hints of grapefruit. The nose translates nearly unchanged to the tongue as caramel and bready malts provide a Bavarian-inspired base for a solid hop bite that leans citrus with traces of pine. This is different, for sure, but I've had worse. And better, for sure.
