Year of New Beer: Fruit Brut IPA: Guava, Country Boy Brewing (Georgetown).

The delicious, dry, Brut IPA proves to be a great base for experimentation as guava adds another layer of intrigue. Very subtle on the nose with hints of pear and berry alongside a light citrus pith. Much like the last two days, however, I still don't completely trust my sense of smell. On the tongue, the fruit presents a little bit tart initially, but softens along the middle. The moderate, floral bitterness of the base beer is still there, and marries nicely with the guava. Enough bite to satisfy a hophead, but enough fruit to pull in the less adventurous beer drinker. This is very well done.
