Year of New Beer: He'Brew Death of a Contract Brewer, Shmaltz Brewing Co. (NY)

Rich, roasted malts, citrusy hops, and wisps of smoke on the nose. The tongue sees much of the same as the dark chocolate elements work nicely against a hop bitterness that becomes leafy and vegetal. Solid brew, and a nice way for Shmaltz to signal the beginning of a new era.
