Year of New Beer (rnd 2): Stampin Ground Hazelnut, Country Boy Brewing (Lexington)

Couldn't tell you the last time I drank a regular Stampin Ground Stout. It's not that I don't like the beer, it's just that the Ghost Gose is my "go-to" when it comes to CBB's flagship beers. But i like a little hazelnut, so this sounded good. Toasted bread, earthy hops, and a hint of hazelnut on the nose. On the tongue is a nice blend of cocoa powder, caramel, toast, and subtle hazelnut. I'd like to see the hazelnut dialed up even more, but this is still a solid offering, and it paired well with a potato soup and grilled cheese from The Kitchen. Tomorrow night...reviews of the Coconut Fudge and French Toast Bourbon Barrel Aged Wooley Swamp variants. I'm just a little bit excited.
