Rich nose of plums, currants, and grapes atop sweeter caramel and chocolate tones. Not really any discernible maple to me, but I'm OK with that, as I think the aromas blend nicely as is. On the tongue, sharper notes of red wine and tart berries lead the way, settling into layers of caramel, brown sugar, and light coffee. Very modest roasted malts, oak, and chocolate through the middle, building to a finish of sherry, toffee, and juicy red grapes. Drinks big and sweet, but not overly boozy. Very enjoyable.
