Year of New Beer: Bi-Coastal, Mile Wide Beer Co (Louisville)

This one seeks to combine the best of the old school IPAs, offering up aromas of pine, weed, and luscious citrus fruits atop bready, caramel malts. Nose transitions well to the tongue, with loads of grapefruit and tangerine giving way to notes of evergreen and herbal grasses. Just a touch of slightly sweet malts provide a nice base throughout. In a world of juicy, hazy IPAs, this one is a nice reminder that sometimes you need a little hop bitterness.
