So maybe this is beyond its "best by" date. Or maybe it's just not that good. At any rate, the black currants and plums present as a somewhat generic sour, somewhat red wine vinegar in nature. Slight undercurrents of Belgian yeast transfer from the nose to a bit more prominent role on the tongue. But the fruits get muddled, and the richer, caramel and fruit tones I usually associate with a Belgian Tripel just aren't there. Not in my wheelhouse, but your mileage may vary.
