Year of New Beer: Briar Weisse, Night Shift Brewing (MA)

Fruits burst forth on the nose, featuring not only the listed blackberry and lemon, but also some green apple and white grape. Very light bready note with warmth. On the tongue, the fruit kicks it up a notch, as the tart berries and lemon peel combine for a potent sour punch. Very acidic, drying the mouth with each sip. Still get auxiliary notes of sour apple and even some lime. As the glass warms, the pucker factor does drop a bit, allowing for just a touch of berry sweetness. Excellent.
