Year of New Beer: Barreled Doppelbock, Country Boy Brewing (Lexington)

Not sure why I hadn't tried this before, but it was the lone new beer on the board tonight, so my decision was easy. Big, big bourbon nose. Plenty of caramel and toasted bread, along with some nuttiness as it warms. Sweet on the tongue with brown sugar, caramel, and dessert breads. Light oak and vanilla, with a golden, toasty grain. Oh, there's bourbon. Lots of bourbon. And that's not a bad thing. Very enjoyable.
