Year of New Beer: Dry Hop Farmhouse Ale, Turtleback Ridge Brewery (KY)

ad the good fortune to pop in on the Brewers of Central KY mtg tonight, and I'm really glad I did. Got to sample several brews from this brewery, which will (hopefully) be open soon near Maysville. Excellent nose that brings tart fruits and a subtle earthy funk atop a light oak and dry grasses. Even more impressive on the taste buds as sharp lemon and tart white grape provide a modest pucker. Full disclosure, I wouldn't know a fig branch from Town Branch, but I think it may be responsible for the earthy, slightly nutty tone that fills the middle palate. Or maybe not, who knows. Really nice fruit acidity with a touch of dusty, cut field grass. I would've paid money for this and been very satisfied with the purchase. Can't wait to see where they go from here.
