Year of New Beer: Brinner Stout, Rock House Brewing (Lexington)

Because a huge, coffee stout that tastes like pancakes is what you have when it's 90° out. Coffee and maple command the nose, layered over a subtle roasty malt. Whereas I don't get the blueberries in the aroma, they do step up in the flavor department., offering up just the right amount of tart to counter the maple and creamy vanilla. The coffee is nicely balanced, providing a nutty layer with just a touch of bitterness. Alcohol not as prominent as I was expecting, making this easy drinking despite its sweetness. Breakfast (or dessert) in a glass. Nicely done.
