Year of New Beer: Imperial Double Fruited Vanilla Black Currant Boysenberry Hill, Southern Grist Bre

So I've had (and really enjoyed) the regular version of this beer. Double the fruit? Yes, please and thank you. An amazing nose that is really tough to describe and do it justice. It's like some sort of raspberry/blackberry cream-filled candy. Tart berries with suggestions of chocolate. On the tongue, the berries start off with a moderately sour kick, unripened and slightly acidic. This is where the lactose and vanilla come in, offering up a deliciously sweet counter to the tart fruits. Just enough malt backing to give a blackberry cobbler effect. Perfectly balanced, jammy deliciousness. Sad to see my glass empty of this one.
