Year of New Beer: Double IPA, West Side Brewing (Cincinnati)

A pretty nice blend here of old school hops and modern day haze. Plenty of orange, grapefruit, and light pine against hints of peach and mango, all balanced against a noticeable malt. On the tongue, this definitely leans to the doubles of days gone by...sticky, resinous hop bitterness in the form of grapefruit and pine, layered over a honey sweetness. Very light tropical fruits across the Middle. Gets a little dank on the finish, with a lingering pine note. If your love of IPAs pre-dates the haze craze, you will enjoy this beer. Solid from start to finish.
